Her father used to sing it to her when she was a little girl, but now she can only remember the line "Little mr Baggy Britches I Love You" If anyone could help it would be most appreciated. |

It seems that the only country associated with this song, in the posts above, is Australia (apart from the "Dutch Girl / Dutch boy characters and "accent") and I'm wondering if I can unearth my late Dad's notes from helping assemble the first Australian 'Boy Scouts Songbook'. Apart from that, there is the knowledge that one great-great grandfather (Jan van Kampen) in my sketchy family tree was described as a "Sailor, Holland" on the 1854 wedding certificate. I'm presuming that he had 'jumped ship' to try to find his fortune on the Ophir Goldfields in the early 1850s. Regards, Bob |
