I like the sound of that! ;0) This could be bigger than The Macarina.....do you remember that one? I think this could catch on as the 'new dance thing' at Sidmouth this year. We'll get all those Morris Boysies and Girlies dancing 'The Twohey Step' down on The Esplanade....they'll be able to hear it from The Ham marquee as it's right next to the sea. I reckon Duncan and his band will get all those beautiful bells jingling as they've never jingled before! ;0) Had better stop there before I get into trouble over dancing with Morris Boysies again!.....'Can't go there'..... ;0) And don't even get me started on Duncan's 'Bed of Straw'!! Why is that song not all over the Mike Harding Show? I think I need to organise a Radio Coup and take over Radio 2....get some of this fantastic music OUT...all over the BBC! Now I'm getting agitated!....I mean I'm listening to all these incredibly talented people out here in the Folk/Acoustic world and Mike's started playing Ramblin' Jack! I mean is it me?? (No-one answer that! ;0)..) Well, I'm off to start lunch and do The FERF round the kitchen to 'The Famous Floating B' now Les, so that will cheer me up again! :0) Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone. Lizzie :0) |

I've got their 'Woodshed Boys' CD. Brilliant!! Love their version of Nic Jones' 'Canadee-i-o' Then there's 'Bring 'em down', 'Woodshed Boys' and 'Can't Go There' as well....I'm on a roll now....just put the CD on and fast forwarded it to 'The Twohey Step' another of my favourites and my feet are off! I'd describe them as 'Fantastic Folk Electric.' How about that then Les? Can't stop a minute longer....have to go and dance wildly now! ;0) Lizzie :0) |

My favourite acts and in no particular order were :- Antony John Clarke & (Forgotten the ladies name - sorry)- A sharp/witty/cool/great song dude. Look forward to seeing them at Gainsborough later in the year. Real Time - saw them twice - they were great - beautiful fiddle player. Flossie - what an act - witty and lovely singing - my wife and childrens favourite. Duncan Mcfarlane Band - well what can I say - Having seen Duncan on his own at my folkclub - (a very pleasant and nice artist) I was in for a big shock. The energy enthused by Duncan and his band was just amazing. Not sure if I would classify them as Folk Rock or Rock Folk. Whatever, I thoroughly enjoyed their act. They are well worth seeing if they are in your area. Where does Duncan get his energy from? The Ceilidh was a great success and the Appalachian Dancers were very good and Pig Dyke Molly were brilliant and a great success from my family's point of view. Barring unforseen circumstances, I hope to be there next year. Wish I was up there tonight (Friday) to see Jez Lowe and the bad pennies at one of the hotels in whitby. Les Worrall |

Sorry the shower block became the latest venue for celebrity wrestling but hopefully the person concerned has apologised to Glen and his team as well as on Mudcat. Old Git - next time dont put Flossie on before I get there you rat - I was there well before 2.50! Lady A - stirling job in the kitchen and in the Tap and probably everywhere else. Glad to see you found time for your groupie work! Raggy can you PM me the list of names to go with the lifeboat song I hear it went down really well when you sang it at Runswick Bay. Les can you send me the Wilberforce motto for my song challenge - dont think it will be in 5/7 time though! Once again it was great to see everyone - especially Big D. in daddy mode with buckets, spades and plastic grabbing hands in the Endeavour on Sunday - can you play the wild rover on them too? My favs are 'Many miles to go' which did appear on deleted 'Wind and Water'. 'Every Man's heart 'is written by Archie Fisher, 'Aesop's Fables' and 'Same Pillow' All the others are good too, its an album that moves along , with a lovely version of 'Rose of Allendale' The title track is 'Fields of Dreams and Glory' Later, you tell me which ones you like best please. Do go and listen to him, he'll have travelled 3000miles further than most of us. we've been lucky to see more than once darn sarf and some of us have been lucky to see him close up.Thats the best way.With no distractions. To appreciate his voice try and be within 20 feet although you'll still hear him at 20 miles - joking -. Enjoy him |

But you can't camp on the Community College site, without buying a weekend ticket, which I would normally do. I intended doing all the seasidy things last year at Whitby Week, but with cars not being allowed off of the campsite, I didn,t get to do the North Yorks Moors thing. I missed Beck Hole. Mind I did get to Whitby 3 times last year, Moor & Coast, Sword Spectacular & Whitby Week. Cheers Les |

It's a long way for me and I can't have another weeks hol a couple of weeks before Whitby. I have seen most of the Artists (if only 'The Cast' were on), and I quite like a few of them, but £40 each (inc camping) for 2 of us we feel is a bit much to go and see a couple of artists. None of our friends are going this year either. I have been for the last few years, (either dancing or as a punter), maybe next year. Cheers Les |
