For all you Strawhead fans out there in the N.W. You can see Strawhead for FREE! as part of the Bothy Folk Club 40th anniversary celebrations. On Wednesday 20th April in the 'Baron's Bar' (real ale), at the Scarisbrick Hotel, Lord St, Southport from 8pm. See website for details of other events (Archie Fisher, Steve Tilston, Hight Level Ranters),
Cheers
Les

We chose the Scarisbrick Hotel Barons Bar 'cos it's just that - a baronial high-ceilinged room with shields, swords, tapestry drapes and antiqued wood - just the sort of venue for 'popular music of the olden time' with all the Strawhead durm n' strang, & bombast a plenty. Yup,somehow the lads'll be right at home. Oh, and it's got a wide choice of proper beer.

And they'll be appearing on BBC GMR Sounds of Folk on Monday, April 25th - and we're on line if you're not in the area!!

Couldn't get to the gig myself, but can recommend the Southport Brewery's new Bothy Beer if you're in the area. I hope they keep it going.

They came they saw they conquered.
And a new c.d. just in time for Nelsons 200th B/day, a double c.d. complete with a digital book.
The 'Bothy Beer' lasted all of 3hrs last night.
Steve Tilston tonight.
