This song is done by Jones & Bliss and it sounds like something Dodi Kallick would have sung. This is question for Art or anyone who knows the song. I love the fiddle on it. Heck, I may just put it up if I listen to it some more. I'd like some history on it.

love, harpgirl

Here it is but where does it come from?

GIRL FROM JERICHO

I am a girl from Jericho
And I come from far away
I've walked and walked all day and night
And I nearly lost my way
The road is rough, the way was long
The path it was so steep
But I have found my way to you
Promises to keep

I am a girl from Jericho
And I come from far away
And though I am a stranger here
I believe that I might stay
The breeze it is so gentle now
The water tastes so sweet
I'll sleep here in the shade awhile
Rest my weary feet

Break

I am a girl from Jericho
And I come from far away
I've walked and walked all day and night
And I nearly lost my way
The road is rough, the way was long
The path it was so steep
But I have found my way to you
Promises to keep

break

I am a girl from Jericho
And I come from far away
And though I am a stranger here
I believe that I might stay
The breeze it is so gentle now
The water tastes so sweet
I'll sleep here in the shade awhile
Rest my weary feet

Break

I am a girl from Jericho, I am a girl from Jericho
And I come from far away

Dear Ms. Harp (and others who may be interested),
The song is an original by Carol Elizabeth Jones, copyright 2003 by her. Only recording I know is by Carol Elizabeth and Laurel Bliss, Copper Creek 0213. (That's a great CD and has some songs that would fit your voice! from your first post it would seem you have that CD)
