Hi Brendan..I think we are long lost cousins.. Deveraux (is it pronounced Devary?) is a family name..Irish..I think it was spelled that way. mg

Deveraux, pronounced dever-oh, is a non-uncommon French name in Louisiana.

A number of Irish names are of Norman (and therefore French) origin ~ notably, anything beginning with "Fitz," meaning "son of," which comes from the same source as the French word "fils" (meaning "son"). It makes perfect sense that, after a few centuries in Ireland, a name like "Deveraux" might be pronounced differently from how the French say it.

Strange how threads can take unexpected twists.
The Earl D'Evereux was in the same flotilla as Strongbow when they landed in Wexford in 1169. The Devereux have been there ever since. And one of them went on to make an album called Songs From A Yellow Chair.

Hi,
Just want to let you all know that my new album
Songs From A Yellow Chair
is featured on the front page of cdbaby.com

"We're REALLY picky about what goes on the front page. We get about
75 new albums a DAY coming in here now, (about 30,000 total), and
yours is one of the best I've ever heard."
Derek Sivers, President cdbaby.com

A segment of all songs can be heard here.

Have a listen.
Further detail about me at my site @
www.brendandevereux.com

regards,
Brendan Devereux.
