Sue,

I'm not sure that you'll find it here, but check out:

www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/Delta/2541/index.html

It's a Blues Lyrics site. I find it to be very thorough and links to some other sites. Let me know how you make out.

P.S. is that London, England?

Steve

If you mean the song with these words..
Just when every ray of hope was gone
I shoulda known that you would linger on
My old friend the blues...
I'll post the whole thing later. I think it is on a Steve Earl album, isn't it? harpgirl

Sue in London,

I was born in London, Ontario, Canada which is why I was asking. Was in London, England a couple of times. One of my moist poignant musical memories was walking along the tunnel to the Tube and hearing a busker playing Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" on sax. This tunnel was very long and I was the only other person in it. The sound just filled the space and got louder and louder as I got closer. That will stay with me always.

Did you have any luck on that site I gave you?

MY OLD FRIEND THE BLUES
Steve Earle

Just when every ray of hope was gone,
I should have known that you would come along.
I can't believe I ever doubted you,
My old friend the blues.

Another lonely night, a nameless town,
If sleep don't take me first, you'll come around.
I know I can always count on you,
My old friend the blues.

Lovers leave and friends will let you down,
But you're the only sure thing that I've found.
No matter what I do, I'll never lose
My old friend the blues.

Lovers leave and friends will let you down,
But you're the only sure thing that I've found.
No matter what I do I'll never lose
My old friend the blues.
Just let me hide my weary heart in you,
My old friend the blues.
