Subject: RE: folk in vancouver From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca Date: 26 Apr 05 - 07:04 PM Then I would recommend the Vancouver Folk Song Society. The url above tells the story. I think that's the closest to what I THINK the UK groups are like. |

Subject: RE: folk in vancouver From: GUEST,Mark Bignell,CFRO:Radio Bandcouver Date: 19 May 05 - 05:10 PM Hello There; I saw a link to this webpage via a Yahoo search. I host / produce / run sound for a weekly radio show called Radio Bandcouver.Though the show is more of a Roots-Rock and Pop show, I do play the odd artist that could clasify as Folk (which is a highly evelving form as well), such as: Geoff Berner, Po' Girl, Minimalist Jug Band, Veda Hille (recently signed by XTC's Andy Partridge and his Ape label), Cleia and Tim Readman. I have a website explaining what I do at www.bandcouver.com. You can e-mail me there as well. You can hear the show on-line around the world at www.coopradio.org from 9pm-10:30 P.S.T. from Vancouver, B.C., Canada Check your time zone, and happy listening. Mark Bignell |

Subject: RE: folk in vancouver From: GUEST,petr(from Vancouver) Date: 19 May 05 - 07:32 PM you shouldnt have to qualify Vancouver as Vancouver BC. (unless you are talking about Vancouver Washington) anymore than one would have to qualify London. (which one? Ontario or England?) Steve Edge at the Rogue folk club would be the best bet, as they put on a lot of folk concerts at different size venues. |

Subject: RE: folk in vancouver From: Stilly River Sage Date: 20 May 05 - 01:08 AM If Vancouver doesn't float your boat, hop on down to Seattle (about 120 miles south) and you'll find a lot going on. |
