Subject: Review: Gilly Kemp(Wuzzle): Poetic Licence From: Morticia Date: 26 Apr 05 - 12:27 PM Gilly is Mudcatter Wuzzle.....for those that don't know her.I was lucky enough to get my hands on this cd some weeks ago, then, in a house move and resultant chaos, couldn't find it again for awhile. This was particularly frustrating as I'd heard a little bit of it and was really keen to hear more. Anyone who is a fan of a pure, clear female solo voice, mainly unaccompanied and with lovely unfussy arrangements will love this album. I already knew Gilly's wonderful voice from the festivals I'd been lucky enough to hear her at, but to have 22 tracks all to myself that I can play whenever I want, well, what riches! Tracks I especially loved included Cloudstreet's The Green Man and Gilly's rendition of She Moved through the Fair is quite perfect in my opinion. If you get a chance, stop her and buy one, I think you'll be glad you did! |
