Subject: Elliots of Minto - pleeeeease help!
From: GUEST,Charlotte
Date: 26 Apr 05 - 02:24 PM

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me out...

I'm a university student doing a dissertation about Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "Cats". I believe that one of the songs in the musical was based on the tune to something called "The Elliots of Minto". Through looking at websites I have discovered that the Elliots are a Scottish Clan but I can't really find any references to a song or tune of that name. I would really like to listen to this tune and I was wondering if anyone has heard of it and if so does anyone know where i could possibly find some sort of recording or sheet music?

thank you

according to a TS Elliot site 'The March of the Pollicle Dogs" was based on 'The Elliots of Minto' - but I can't find the tune anywhere.

It's not a negative answer, it's a confirmation of the original information, and for those of us reading of this for the first time, it gives the name of the song in question in the muscial.

charlotte - someone may come along who knows of it.    Or you might want try a fiddle tune site. I have no basis to decide this - but it "sounds" like the title of a fiddle tune to me.

There is always the option of a Google Search.
