Subject: RE: Bill Staines homepage From: JedMarum Date: 28 Jan 08 - 01:51 PM Looks like I posted the Sweet Wyoming Home link above without my cookie! Sorry about that. I sing a few of his songs and love all 'em. He's got a nice, "here's my story, here's my song" sort of approach to his performances that I love. |

Subject: RE: Bill Staines homepage From: Amos Date: 27 Jan 08 - 04:00 PM I was delighted to see his date in San Diego for May--I aim to be there. I don't like the home-page website design. No samples, no lists of his own songs, few pictures. A |
Subject: RE: Bill Staines homepage From: Peace Date: 27 Jan 08 - 03:16 PM Any time listening to Bill weave his magic is time well spent. He is not only a dynamite songwriter and singer, but his stage persona (which is not at all removed from his real self) is friendly, kind and warm. |

Subject: RE: Bill Staines homepage From: Pseudolus Date: 21 Jun 01 - 09:31 AM Until last night I hadn't had the pleasure of attending a Bill Staines concert. It was great!! He was at O'Friel's Irish Pub in Wilmington Delaware and even though I was a little late (got some bad info on start times...), I heard his entire second set and the end of his first. He's a great story teller, with this calming voice and a guitar that looked like it was playing itself. What a talent!! I sure am glad I didn't miss it!!! Frank |
Subject: RE: Bill Staines homepage From: Suffet Date: 08 Mar 01 - 07:42 PM Thanks for the details, Evy. Let me just add that if someone is not already a Pinewoods member, he/she can join on the night of the concert and get in for free. Well, that is free except for the annual dues. --- Steve |
Subject: RE: Bill Staines homepage From: GUEST,Evy Mayer (ukelady) Date: 07 Mar 01 - 10:16 PM Here's the information we are sending out to our members about the upcoming Bill Staines concert in New York City, on Thursday, May 10th at 8PM. If you are anywhere near us, come to this concert for a great evening. For more information e-mail: ukelady1@prodigy.net For over 30 years Bill Staines has traveled back and forth across North America, singing his songs and delighting audiences at festivals, folksong societies, colleges, concerts, clubs and coffeehouses. Bill has become one of the most popular singers on the folk circuit today and averages around 200 concert dates a year. Bill weaves a gentle blend of wit and humor into his performances, Singing mostly his own songs, his music is a slice of Americana, reflecting with the same ease his feelings about the prairie people of the Midwest or the adventurers of the Yukon. Interspersed between his own songs, Bill also includes songs ranging from traditional folk to more contemporary country ballads, and delights in having the audience participate in many of the numbers. He is also acclaimed for his yodeling. Many of Bill's songs, such as "River" and "All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir," are well known to Pinewoods members. |
