Subject: RE: Happy! - May 8 From: Abby Sale Date: 10 May 05 - 08:48 AM Apparently, but only from reports of witnesses given well afterward, it was whiskey laced with strychnine, which would kill rodents. Per Peter Guralnick, Johnson fell ill from it and died from pneumonia three days later. No cause of death at all is listed in the death certificate. I doubt there was any sort of autopsy at all. In Edinburgh, I learned of a traditional method of killing rats without poison. You just pour ground glass in their holes. The only problem is getting someone to hold the rats... |
