Subject: Hurdy Gurdy player - NYC subway -ID? From: Zhenya Date: 09 May 05 - 02:26 PM This past Saturday afternoon, there was a young woman playing hurdy gurdy in the West 4th st. subway station in Manhattan, on the downtown "F" train platform, about 4:00. I only got to listen for a few minutes, as my train came, and I had to make an appointment. The music I heard sounded like Breton tunes (perhaps?),well-played. She had a larger crowd listening then they usual subway busker. I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this player and knows who she is, or where else she might perform. |
