you can access the threads that are over 365 days old via the "FORUM SEARCH" feature. It's not as convenient, but does allow you to search by author, title or body text.

If the songs have been added to the Mudcat collection is the rest of the information that important? What I am wondering is if all the music that has been passed about is added to the main collection. Can anyone tell me?

Reta..large amounts of the songs posted in the forum ARE added to the database..Dick Greenhaus edits and chooses..(someone has to decide!) Some things are missed accidently, some are left out because they are not really appropriate or are almost duplicates, etc.

Remember..in order to take songs from here and add them to the database, Dick had to read almost EVERYTHING...and then copy and edit and label..etc. This is in addition to mundane things like eating & sleeping! He does have help from Susan of DT..(exactly how they divvy up the tasks, I don't know)

I think it is amazing how much IS found and entered....

Hi, Reta - yeah, I think the rest of the information is important, too, not just the lyrics. In my two years here, I've learned lots more than just lyrics. The stories behind the lyrics, and all the other information about music and life in general, all that is priceless.
Besides, I've made lots of friends here. What more could a person ask for?

I wonder if in the future when Dick enters a song in the database he could place a link to the story behind the song with it.

Already many songs have a bit of credits after them, so I know he can do something. I just can't say if this is worth the effort.
