sevewral years ago Richard toured with Lucy and Dar williams
they called their trio Cry Cry Cry--they all are solo performers
in their own rite (write? right?) and together they were powerful!!

speaking of power, i drive International Harvesters.
a Fire Engine and County Library Book mobile..
but i leave the mechanic-ing to the shop guys..

Peter, I share your evident excitement about Richard Shindell. I just can't say enough about him, actually. I think the world of his songs and his beautiful guitar playing, and have seen him live many times with every show a winner. Back when I first saw him in the early 90s, he told an amusing story about the Kenworth song. He said a friend of his (who was NOT a trucker) stopped into a truck stop for a bite to eat on a road trip. He had noticed that one of the truckers having a meal had been driving a Kenworth, so, being a fan and faithful promoter of Richard's music, he approached the trucker, all excited.
"I see you drive a Kenworth."
"Yup."
"Well, I have a friend who's a songwriter, and he wrote a song about a Kenworth--the Kenworth of My Dreams!"
"So?"
"Well, I have a cassette of it out in the car. Would you like to hear it?"
"Nope." Tucks back into his hash browns, utterly disinterested.
So much for sharing the evident excitement!
Anyway I really love to sing and play Richard Shindell's songs, and in my fantasy world I get to be the one singing harmonies on his records instead of Lucy Kaplansky.
Enjoy.
Margaret

Ask Mudcatter Biskit about Kenworth, he probably drove a few in his time. Freightliners and Macs were my favourites.

A truck brand. Kenworth is one of several makers of trucks that are capable of producing more and better erections than Viagra amongst the male of the species with certain predispositions. The other major brand to do so even states that in their name...Peterbilt.

Hi, Peter:

I bought Richard's CD "Courier" recently, which features that song. Yes: it's a cracker. Great album. Awesome playing and great feel throughout. I already had the studio album "Somewhere Near Paterson" and that's a cracker too.

Cheers

Ever work on a Kenworth? I have and it was an experience into another dimension, Ever listen to Richard Shindell? I am listening to my favorite album now. For many years I worked on our Kenworth at Bath Iron Works. We kept her up we made her good. I miss her, she has been outscouced now. Richard Shindell knows what it was like too, so listen to him!... Listen to Fishing!

Peter
