One of the greats in collecting - collected vast numbers of songs and particularly Anglo-American ballads in New England. So much good stuff that was largely unavailable until very recently (with a big boost from Margaret MacArthur.) Anyone who (understandably) thinks that you have to go to Scotland to learn any decent ballads needs only a quick glance at this material to open a whole new world of brilliant material.
