Hi, and a big hug from all at The Real-Music Club
We are a small club that operates from The Rising Sun in Willington, Derbyshire (halfway between Burton on Trent & Derby) 2 minutes from the "Toyota island where the A50 & A38 meet. We meet on a Thursday

We have a mix of open mike sessions and concert nights. We are not a traditional folk club and have in fact changed our name to "The Real-Music Club" since the word "Folk" has so many negative vibes for so many people. To us "Folk Music" is folk playing music. Hence we are comfortable in providing a stage for performers of a wide range of music, not all within the narrow confines of what some define as folk. It has to be Real-Music, performed by artistes and listened to by an audience who appreciate Real-Talent when they see it.

The open sessions usually have 10-15 musicians but only a handful of people just coming to listen which I hope will change as word gets around what a lovely night-out it is. It is a great atmosphere and we have had some very talented people come along from far & wide and of course more locally. Only £1.50 (for performers and non-performers). 8pm start. A friendly, welcoming and informal gathering of musicians, singers, poets, storytellers and those who just love listening. A lovely small venue for Real-Music lovers. PA not provided on Open Session nights but you can bring your own amplification if you want. Every night is a good night but every so often something very special happens.

On the concert nights we have some fabulous main-guests and we usually try to give our residents 30 mins in first half and a "support" 30 mins in the 2nd half.

Doors Open 7.30pm for 8pm start.
