Also very interesting-- last night I heard an interview with one of the most prominent television journalists in Israel (active since 1968, and fought in the 6 Days War.) He stated that it was a mistake to increase Israeli settlements in the West Bank. He is not alone in Israel in feeling this way.


Truly amazing, "Martin", that you, from your vast experience living in Israel-- (how long did you say you lived there?)-- know better than many Israelis who've been living there for decades.

I've seen a few Springer shows. Maury, also. From what I have seen, they are moderately entertaining. Especially when there is all of that puching and shoving. It is TV at it's best and worst, depending how you look at it.

Jerry Springer is a great credit to the liberal cause. An excellent spokesmen. Almost as good as Al Franken. These are great men. Great liberal men.

If I wanted to encourage independent thought, I would encourage people to gather as much information as possible from as many sources as possible and then to follow their conscience. It's interesting to note that Martin Gibson has picked up on Arnold Schwarzenegger's use of "girlie man" as a put-down and is using it over and over, and over …. and over …. and over …. and over ….    This is not unlike Ronald Reagan's frequent use of Clint Eastwood's line in one of the Dirty Harry movies, "Go ahead! I generally object to anyone who tries to pin me to any part of the political 'spectrum'. I think foolish people follow political parties. Be damned the day I vote for a party just because I happened to vote that way in the last election. With regard to some issues I am far to the right of that guy in Washington. With regard to others I am far to the left of Marx and Engles. I guess that ever since I learned to value my vote I have wanted to use that vote to express what I hope is best for my neighbours, country, planet.
