Because I just got around to doing something I should have long ago, poked around in the links up there on top, and found Alaska Mike's website with samples; you guys haven't been kiddin'; his stuff is delightful. How many more regulars should be linked up there? (Or how many more are, if I had the names sorted out?

Hmmmm. Maybe it would be an idea to have a section in the Links section for Mudcatter Websites. We have a PermaThread for Mudcatter CD's, but maybe we need a Mudcatter section on the Links page. What do you think?

Surely we want to help support the talents and livelihoods of Mudcats? Surely that is why these people have web sites? By word of mouth it may result in sales. And on the flipside, what harm can it do?

For instance, I would like to see Buddy Tabor of Alaska get better known. He is a remarkable songwriter and a gritty political singer. If his name and clips were posted in that kind of link I'd be all for it.

My vote was YES to have them but NO as to location-- it's hard enough for new people to find crap around here already-- why else do we have profiles if not for our own details???!?!??

I do like the idea of being able to find out about the latest CD's by Kendall or Banjerman or Amos or whoever! I suppose that if there are a few hundred of our closest 'Catter friends out there with sites & a jillion products-some Music & some not-there might be some 'Catters who would think that having them all listed in the links could be considered not appropriate & too commercial or things of that nature. Perhaps there could be something more on the lines of a guest page or guest book wherein we could all list all the stuff we have, & possible appropriate warnings that it's not an official or endorsed by, Mudcat kinda thing.

Pretty much to the point, too, is that frogprince didn't find Alaska Mike's website in Mike's profile - although he could have - he found it in the links. My guess is that you were just checking links out of curiosity, fp?

Well, to be totally honest, I submitted a link to my own site; then I got into checkin' what else was up there. Looks like any money I may off my little site will be just a little happy surprise, but as a non-performer I just hoped to share some of what I've written with a few of the troops.

I just found this thread. I am so pleased you enjoyed the snippets of songs on my website. I hope someday we might meet and share a song or two in person. I've got another CD coming out in about a month and will post some additional sound bytes when it is ready. Thanks for sharing your smile.
