Subject: FoilkforMS win (and lose) at Chippenham From: Hovering Bob Date: 01 Jun 05 - 06:10 AM Our grateful thanks to all those who contributed to Folk for M.S. at Chippenham Folk Festival. Having given up trading in 2nd hand pewter tankards some years ago I decided to dispose of my excess stock by offering them to anyone in exchange for a donation to Folk for M.S. This created a lot of interest and many of you did just that and we raised over £25 in one of the two collecting boxes we put out. We probably made as much in the second box but we'll never know as SOME MISERABLE LITTLE SCROART(S) stole it just before the end of the festival. I just hope that they are never in need of help from a worthwhile charity that can't help them due to lack of funds. (Actually, I DO HOPE THEY DO !!!) Our thanks again to those who did help us, we are very grateful and look forward to meetings as many as possible at our "Day of Folk" on the 11th June, see separate threads, or visit our web site at:-Folk for M.S. website All the best, (still) Hovering Bob |

Subject: RE: FoilkforMS win (and lose) at Chippenham From: GUEST Date: 01 Jun 05 - 08:23 AM Come on, this is Mudcat. Criminals are victims. Maybe he is out of work. Maybe his mother didn't love him. Maybe he needs counselling. There's no need to be nasty about him. I'm sure he's not a Tory. |
Subject: RE: FoilkforMS win (and lose) at Chippenham From: skipy Date: 01 Jun 05 - 06:09 PM Bob & I had a chat about this & we both are 100% confident that it was not a folkie that walked off with it, however we sadly agreed that if in the future someone diagnosed with MS mentioned how ironic it was that they "nicked" a box of money from an MS charity @ Chippenham, we would still do all that we could to help the individual in question. Thats the sort of people we "folkies" are! Come to the concert if you can, help us to use this post to gain far more than we lost! There is a lunchtime session & morris & camping after the concert. Skippy. |
Subject: RE: FoilkforMS win (and lose) at Chippenham From: Hovering Bob Date: 02 Jun 05 - 04:47 AM Dave has summed up the situation very well but, I'm sorry, some may see the person who stole our collecting box as a victim, I'm sorry I don't, the only victims are the people Folk for M.S. won't be able to help because of this thief who is still a MISERABLE LITTLE SCROAT! As Dave says we can be sure he/she is not a folkie and they won't therfore be at the Folk for M.S. DAY OF FOLK on the 11th June. Visit the Folk for M.S. web site for details of the day and how to book tickets and camping. Rant over, Hovering Bob |
Subject: RE: FoilkforMS win (and lose) at Chippenham From: My guru always said Date: 02 Jun 05 - 04:08 PM Bob, am I going mad? I looked around the Folk for M.S. web-site & couldn't find any info about postal donations. As I can't get to the Day itself I'd hoped there'd be another method of donating. Is there a postal opportunity? |
