Happy Birthday!

Roy G. Berkeley

(who revealed unto us
"The Twelve Days of Marxmas" in 1956)

was born 6/2/1935

In recent years, Mr Berkeley has generously revealed unto us some of more arcane and mystical meanings behind the great song. He also co-founded the New York Folk Singers Guild and served as the first Chairman of that organization; was the first folk singer to sing in a coffee-house in the Village (the Gaslight), starting (for better or worse) The Great Fok Scare of the Sixties. Also history scholar & teacher of labor history.

Presumably a close relative of 'Red Wave the Banners-O' (in the archive, but not harvested by Digitrad for some reason)
