Subject: RE: Eric Roche From: Big Al Whittle Date: 03 Jun 05 - 02:30 AM This is terrible news. He is a wonderful young man with an extraordinary talent. I was at Avalon too and I bought the dvd. I have sat all my friends down to watch in astonishment someone redefining guitar technique. I'm sure every body who has ever experienced this great musician will feeling sad and wishing Eric and his wife better luck. |

Subject: RE: Eric Roche From: eleanor c Date: 03 Jun 05 - 10:27 AM I recently went on his residential guitar course but sadly he could not attend, so two superb teachers Stuart Ryan and Clive Carroll taught it for him. I haven't met or been taught by Eric but several of his friends and students were on the course and told me what a lovely bloke and what a great teacher he is - some advice they quoted from him was spot-on. His playing goes beyond description: just go buy his CD "With these hands" , it'll be your buy of the year! Virtuosic and extremely moving. Also his book "The acoustic guitar bible" has revolutionised my playing, although heaven knows he should have a better student than me to endorse him ( actually he does, many many of them!) |
