Thanks for all the positive comments, folks. Good news:

YES! I got a tune for it, and I am rather chuffed with it because I think it really suits it, it tests the vocal chords enough to make it fun and it can be sung unaccompanied too. I also changed the lyrics a little to help them scan better (Liz, I already have one called "Contradictions" so I'll stay with Traitor's Love for now).
Amended lyrics:

This is a 1964 song by Soul singer Gloria Jones. I ashamed to say I only knew of it via the 80's cover by softcell

"Tainted Love" which I think was a reworked blues number, or so I was told.
"John Wayne Is Big Legge" was from "Haysi Fantaysee" a boy-girl pop group which was a two or three hit wonder.

Some of those songs didn't make it to the States. Euro Pop is quite distinct from our stuff.

Great Great Song. I was peddling my bicycle up the West Coast of Ireland listening to two radio channels on my brand new walkman. One channel played Irish Traditional. The other channel played one of four songs: Tainted Love, The Envoy, I Eat Cannibal, John Wayne Is Big Legge.

The constant bickering about this and that in politics around the globe has led me to write something. It's just a poem for now, though I expect that by tomorrow it may well have a tune to it.

It is not meant to depict the situation in any one country - I have seen equivalent signs in every country I have lived (three) and most countries I visited (18). But I expect people will see themselves in it and want to argue, so to save time I moved it to BS section from the start.

Please criticise/judge.
