Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Loaded for Bear (not by Ted Nugent) From: GUEST,LYRIC ADD--NOTE REAL TITLE . . . . . .999 Date: 13 Sep 12 - 04:26 PM Huntin' for Coon but I'm loaded for Bear When I was a boy, just turned 14 I had an old Coonhound, by the name of Queen When we went a huntin', we made quite a pair We were huntin' for coon, but we were loaded for bear Up on hill and down the other carrying 9 raccoons and their Pa & Mother If we came home empty handed, that was rare For me and Old Queen, we were loaded for bear One day me and Old Queen, we treed us a coon That tree was so tall it nearly scraped on the moon I threw down my gun and I said "Ill swear I'm a climbing for coon, but I'm loaded for bear" I climb about a mile up that dab blame tree but nothing yet, was I able to see I heard a commotion down on the ground Old Queen had let out, that she was a' homeward bound Now Queen ain't no quitter, she's a first class pooch but that dog took off, like she'd been shot full of hooch And I glanced straight down and loss and mercy me There's a big black bear, and he's a' loaded for me Here I am, half way to the top hanging on tight, trying hard not to drop I said, "Lord, I ain't much, but if you've got a notion of answering this prayer you best come quick, and loaded for bear" The lyrics are from http://id-discussions.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77168 |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: That old bear he was loaded for me From: Jim Dixon Date: 06 Jun 05 - 08:14 AM Besides the Ted Nugent song, The BMI Repertoire lists two other songs called LOADED FOR BEAR. One is by Charles R. Ramey and the other is by Johnny Bond. The Johnny Bond song was issued as Columbia 4-21494 (with SIX OF ONE, HALF A DOZEN OF THE OTHER), according to this discography. I couldn't find any more information about the Ramey song. |
