Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: JennyO Date: 24 Jun 05 - 07:00 AM Ha ha Bill D. Good one! Of course I'm not really posting to this thread. I'm just a figment of somebody's imagination.......or maybe it's the other way around....... |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: susu Date: 24 Jun 05 - 06:44 AM Just a question... couldn't G-Spot theoretically be more than one person, just as anyone who posts under the "Guest" moniker? So technically G-Spot could be Guest arguing with him/herself? Now that's deep! (or messed up) Susu |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: sixtieschick Date: 24 Jun 05 - 01:42 AM Why don't we all just declare victory and get out. 1000! There! I was first. Now I'm outa here. |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: Bill D Date: 24 Jun 05 - 01:23 AM Jenny, Michelle...I just went looking for a cartoon in an old folder to make a point, but it was too torn to scan...so....imagine *drawing of a fellow sitting in his chair in front of TV set, looking sad and upset...and saying, "To think- people are watching this!" |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: JennyO Date: 24 Jun 05 - 12:11 AM My thoughts exactly, Michelle. Funny - I was just reading the Life VS the Internet thread, and had composed what was going to be my one and only post to it, and when I previewed my post, it said This Thread is Closed. So I copied my post, and opened the thread again in another window and it said This Thread has been Deleted. So I've got a perfectly good post and nowhere to put it. So where can I put it, she thought? I know, I'll boost that awful MG thread on to 1000 posts, cos it sorta fits in, particularly in the light of what you said Michelle. I referred to something Jon Freeman said in that thread, but the whole thing's been deleted now - probably just as well. Anyway, for what it's worth, here it is. This GUEST is obviously pretending to be obtuse because she thinks she can wind us up. There's nothing wrong with a person changing their Mudcat handle. John in Hull did it quite regularly at one stage, and every time he did, all his old member posts took on the latest name. Jon already explained why that happens and why the name on one's guest posts don't change, in his post of 23 Jun 05 - 08:13 PM. I think Jerry Rasmussen had the right of it when he said I know that brucie changed his mudcat moniker to Peace... I too read the thread. And that's the manner in which he stepped away. Simple as that. As for the other G spot/brucie/Peace nonsense - ridiculous. I don't know who G spot is - could be MG for all I know - but I'd have a hard time believing it was Bruce. I can't even see why anyone thinks there's any connection. More likely it's somebody trying to stir up trouble. It might be a good thing for a few here to step away! Don't you people have LIVES? Jenny |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: LilyFestre Date: 23 Jun 05 - 11:34 PM I think you folks have lost your minds and have entirely too much time on your hands. Who cares about who changes a name or who has taken a break from being online...I'd say that is actually a healthy thing. Who knows....maybe Brucie had something to do or someplace to go and didn't feel like dragging your foul mouthed, button pushing asshole selves with him. Lord knows I wouldn't want to. Keeping track of who said what to who and in what context is obsessive...sounds much like the carrying on of a 13 year old school girl. But hey...if that's how you wish to spend your days (you know, those moments that pass us by, never to return, EVER), then so be it. I'd much rather enjoy those around me, getting active with something that has meaning to me than to sit and bicker endlessly with people who can only present themselves as typed up words....all expressions and intonations are lost....you get the idea. In my opinion, those who try to push the reaction button and hide behind the Guest name, aren't worth anything...certainly not a second read through, or response let alone a second thought. Don't you have some bugs to pull wings off of or something? Michelle |

Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST Date: 23 Jun 05 - 10:33 PM Hmmmm...methinks thou dost protest too much on behalf of brucie there, G Spot. In the Real Life v. the Internet thread is where you will find the video Clinton linked to. And I'm done with you now. You can go on ranting all night long if you'd like brucie. I've made enough of a fine point about you for one day. |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST,G-Spot Date: 23 Jun 05 - 10:29 PM Don't try to make sense of the senseless. Guest, do humor me and tell me what video did Clinton who link to where. if such a thing exists anywhere but in your mind. And, the apology/nervous breakdown thread; link to it. GS |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST Date: 23 Jun 05 - 10:21 PM Sorry Jerry, but not only did Joe Offer today admit that brucie has also been posting as "Peace" but I just posted the hard evidence of it to another thread. Note how in the following posts, the "From" field now reads "Peace" where yesterday it read "brucie" (and that the post is in fact signed by brucie): Subject: RE: BS: Re Promised CDs from brucie From: Peace Date: 22 Jun 05 - 10:52 PM Thank you, all. Kind words. I am taking a break from the 'cat for a while. The CDs I can send are gone--in the mail. I will visit from time to time, so if anyone doesn't get the copy, or if the copy is defective, etc, please post to this thread and someone will let me know. I have enjoyed being here. Wish you all well. Take care. Bruce Here is an example from the "For Real I Quit" thread: Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: Peace Date: 22 Jun 05 - 11:03 PM "For Real. I quit" Not quitting, but leaving for a while. Y'all take care. BM And here is an example from the "Fuck You Jane Fonda" thread: Subject: RE: pg13 Add: 'Fuck You Jane Fonda' Vietnam Song From: Peace Date: 19 Jun 05 - 02:17 PM Mick, That is one beautiful post. As you are aware, I protested that war for years. However, even being on 'the other side' of the issue, I was never impressed by Jane's actions at that time. But as you said, she has changed. I also agree that songs have to be preserved. ALL songs--whether I like them or not. My remarks above are not to do with 'making the song go away' further into obscurity. The remarks were to say, simply, that as an example of the songwriter's art/craft--well, it ain't a good one. Bruce Murdoch |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST,... Date: 23 Jun 05 - 10:10 PM I believe it's your asshole--ahem, G Spot--currently flapping about in the breeze there...not mine. G'night brucie m'girl. |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 23 Jun 05 - 10:09 PM If I can cut in on this dance between Guest and Guest-GSpot, whatever shortcomings brucie may have, I consider him a good friend and he has many admirable qualities. If he felt the need to step away, it's not to pose as some Guest, or Guest with moniker. Maybe the air got a little too foul in here.. Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST,G-Spot Date: 23 Jun 05 - 09:53 PM So you make a reference to something and when you are asked to give details, you have nothing to offer except "bye bye". Sounds like you had nothing in your bag to begin with, asshole. GS |

Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST,G-Spot Date: 23 Jun 05 - 09:46 PM Okay, I'll play. What video did Clinton who link where? I'll go look if I knew what the fuck you are talking about. GS |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST,... Date: 23 Jun 05 - 09:42 PM Sure you are female, brucie. Maybe you should go take a peek at the video Clinton linked to... |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST,G-Spot Date: 23 Jun 05 - 09:38 PM I can't respond for laughing! As for as being "caught", I have not heard of this. That should be interesting reading. Could you direct me to the "nervous breakdown/ apology thread? I would love to see that part of Mudcat history. Or, is it one of those mysteriously disappearing threads you speak of? BTW, I am not a vicious vile little man. I am female. GS |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST Date: 23 Jun 05 - 09:30 PM The three of you make perfect sense together there brucie/G Spot/Peace. You are posting today under your G Spot moniker, because yesterday as brucie you claimed you were going to take a Mudcat break, then today I noticed and Joe Offer confirmed that brucie and Peace were the same member, and you G Spot/Peace/brucie haven't been able to follow through on your pathetic little claim that you were "taking a break" from the forum, when what you are really doing is playing your usual, disturbed persona games you've been caught out playing in the past here by others. Let's see now, last time you got caught out at this, I believe you later came back and apologized for your nervous breakdown, or some such crap. You are just a vicious, vile little man who has been bitter ever since it became apparent you would never be a star of the folk revival. |

Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST,G-Spot Date: 23 Jun 05 - 09:05 PM Guest, you dumb fuck. What would be the point of brucie changing his name to Peace and then posting as G-Spot? If he really wanted to add to confusion then he would do better to post as you, a nameless guest. I meam, three or four posts in a row by three or four different nameless guest and everyone would be sratching their asses. This has happened before. But the "brucie, Peace, G-Spot" thing makes no sense, serves no purpose. Beside all that, it is preposterous for a nameless guest to complain about any posts by those who give a name, about the names they use. So fuck off, asshole. GS |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: Azizi Date: 23 Jun 05 - 08:44 PM If I recall correctly Martin used to post that sentence {terrorists or insurgents, either way, they suck. fuck 'em} Which doesn't mean that G-Spot is Martin. He {she} could be, but he {she} could also be an instigating wannabe-that is to say- a person who thinks it's fun to see us fight among ourselves. As to G-Spot being Brucie {Peace}, I doubt it. But y'all can argue back and forth about that if you want to. I've posted enough in this thread, and I'm outta here if it gets ugly again. I don't do ugly. Azizi |

Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: Ebbie Date: 23 Jun 05 - 08:00 PM That ain't brucie. Peter K, since I've never gotten that far north, I'd have to say "Welcome!" Actually, I'd love to hear about your mountain bike sojourn. Stay tuned. |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST Date: 23 Jun 05 - 07:50 PM Whoa there brucie--oops, I mean G Spot--you just posted that in my thread here... Oh what a tangled web we weave, eh Peacester G Spot? |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: Peter K (Fionn) Date: 23 Jun 05 - 07:49 PM Ebbie, I got past Fairbanks as far as the Yukon. (By mountain bike.) Is that north enough to count? |

Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST Date: 23 Jun 05 - 07:36 PM Hey G Spotster, I notice you've been posting almost as long as "Peace" (the former "brucie"). Just coincidence? Hmmmm... You, G Spot, seem to share the same proclivities towards trying to control what/how other people post. Are you as good at bootlicking Joe and clones' boots as delusional brucie is? |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: GUEST,G-Spot Date: 23 Jun 05 - 07:21 PM I think the entire 900-1000 posts should have been a memorial to Martin Gibson! But we missed that opportunity. So how about 925-1000? I would be so cathartic to most of you and it would mean so very much to Martin!! Do I hear an "Amen"? A "hear ye, hear ye"? A wink and a nod?? Come on...don't be anymore of paper asshole than you've already been! GS |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: Ebbie Date: 23 Jun 05 - 07:19 PM Azizi and all, nyah, nyah, nyah- the temperature out my door at 3:00 PM is about 60 degrees. Gotta admit though, it's drizzling. Not actually raining- it's more like the clouds can't quite hold it. (Is that called Incontinence?) I just got back from walking 7 blocks in it and my hair is only slightly damp. gnu, it didn't fall into a pit- I was picking up on your pun. Made me think of Elmer Fudd- 'I am not a cwitter! I hunt them.' |
Subject: RE: BS: For Real. I quit From: Azizi Date: 23 Jun 05 - 06:24 PM "Hot diggity" reminds me of that great Soca hit "Hot, Hot Hot". "Are ya feelin hot hot hot" "Are ya feelin hot hot hot" etc etc etc. I mean this is the BS section, right? Besides, I can't find the lyrics to the song online and it's too hot and I'm too tired to transcribe the words by trying to locate CDs with the song on it and then transcribe them... I ain't that crazy yet.. But if you don't know what "Soca" is all about, check this out: "ABOUT SOCA Contrary to widespread assumption, the term "soca" does not refer strictly to the fusion of North American R&B or soul with calypso, but rather, to the incorporation of dance-oriented East Indian percussive and musical elements into traditional calypso. Trinidad's Lord Shorty, who perfected this style in 1973, was credited with defining the inner "soul" of calypso through this expression of Trinidad and Tobago's African and Indian ethnic mix. Comparable fusions of Asian elements with reggae have resulted in such massive dancehall rhythms as Bhangra (Chaka Demus & Pliers' "Murder She Wrote") and Diwali (Sean Paul's "Get Busy," Wayne Wonder's "No Letting Go," Lumidee's "Never Leave You"). The soca fusion was embraced throughout the Caribbean, where Carnivals are held on each island in the spring. Much the way that preparations for New Orleans' big Mardi Gras blow-out dominate the pre-Lenten season, the yearly run-up to Carnival sees an explosion of music-making in anticipation of the event, because of the obvious opportunity to launch a huge hit in the competitions and parties that surround Carnival. The biggest international hit ever to come out of soca up until now was 1983's party classic, "Hot, Hot, Hot" by the Montserrat native Arrow (Alphonsus Cassell), covered by Buster Poindexter for the U.S. crossover market." -snip- Click HERE for more on Soca. **** See what one word or phrase can spark?!! Hot diggity dog! |
