Subject: RE: Song ADD: Solstice Round - This Longest Night
From: Barbara
Date: 20 Dec 98 - 11:12 AM

The ABC doesn't look right. I think the first measure should be '(rest)C2E2G2'. And then the last one is just 'C2'.
There are four parts, and they begin with the words "This", "Keep", "Wel-" and "And re-". They are the words that begin each phrase. This is only tricky because they are not the downbeats. Capish?
Blessings,
Barbara

Subject: Lyr/Tune Add: THE LONGEST NIGHT (Solstice round)
From: Barbara
Date: 20 Dec 98 - 10:56 AM

This longest night your candle light,
Keep watch over all the earth;
Welcome hope and cheer as the dawn draws near
And rejoice! Rejoice at the sun's rebirth.

The way I recorded the MIDI, it is not clear that there is only one beat in the last measure, and then the song immediately recycles to the beginning three beats "This long-est.."
Part two (of three) begins on the word "Keep". I'll have to go look at it to see where the third part begins, but if you sing it, and add the third when the second gets to "Keep", you'll have the right place for the third part. Did anyone follow that?
Blessings,
Barbara
