Great weekend. The music really was excellent! Lots of history and tales, beautiful setting and venue. Nice folks. I'll be back, if they'll have me (we have already been talking about details). I hope to include a trip to Syracuse next year - and probably more New England.

I think I'll drive though - I hate flying with my guitar, and being limited as to what I can carry with me. I like options!

This really is the finest of the Civil War events I've been to. Real nice folks running it, great mix of music and a unique approach to literally mixing the music in performance.

The grand concert was a real treat. All the acts performed in various combination, solo and/or with one another - it looked like it might be mayhem - it was crowded on stage - but somehow it all worked magically - and what a show! Great stuff.

I hope to be back.

HI Folks!!
Jed was there -- I was there. We were both looking for Mudcaters, but we didn't see any. This was my third time attending/performing at Windham. It was a great time!! Lots of very talented folks performing in an 1840's era church converted to concert hall -- excellent acoustics. Put it on you schedule for next year (I heard a rumor that Jed was invited back.)

Dave

Festival's bit too far for this year's commute, but friend Steve from our 1880's brass band promised to bring back a report of the doings. Oh you lucky people. Wish we could join you this weekend in NY. Have a great time with all that terrific old-time music.

Thanks for the schedule, Jed.

Knowing SINSULL, she's serious. She's one of those people who comes up with wild, hare-brained schemes and then makes them happen. Being as this is a house concert and not a hare-brained scheme, It's got a pretty good chance. I'd like to make a reservation right now, please. Work the next day might be interesting, but-what-the-heck!

Sounds like fun, but a bit of a long haul from here.

I wish that David Kinkaid could make it; his two CW Albums are highly reccomended. Both his vocal style and instrumentation are about as dead bang on to the period style as I can determine, and he's really GOOD!

Something about the classic old CW songs done in a Country Western style with steel slide / electric guitars and such just seem a little perverted to me for some reason.

For Minstrel Banjo in the authentic period "stroke" style you can't do much better than Bob Flesher, and George Wunderlich makes marvelous reproduction Minstrel / CW period banjos. The last I knew he was planning to make period gut-strung "Parlor" guitars too, but I don't know how that project went, as I have not heard from George in some time.

Windham NY looks like it's less than 100 miles from where I grew up, but a bit too far from where I now live. I look forward to being able to make it to a closer gig though!

OK Jed and think about a house concert at my place if you can fit it in. But only if you bring the banjo.
