Subject: Licensing-Boring but important From: ET Date: 16 Jun 05 - 04:13 PM This wretched act comes into full force on 24th November. Licensees who don't get their licence application in by 6th August loose existing rights and could have problems. Please encourage your local licensee to fill in the wrtetched new form and include the music bit. The old application was £30 for one A4 sheet. With guidance the new thing is the size of the Encyclopedia Britanica (and not the CD version) and costs a fortune but it has to be done otherwise we will be playing and not drinking in the local Methodist Hall |

Subject: RE: Licensing-Boring but important From: Rasener Date: 16 Jun 05 - 05:29 PM Already done and dusted at the village hall where my folk club operates. They sailed through with their application. I am not having a bar. Its bring your own. Less issues for the village hall. |

Subject: RE: Licensing-Boring but important From: Richard Bridge Date: 17 Jun 05 - 02:22 AM Losing existing rights under Schedule 8 is not a problem for us as the opening paragraphs of schedule 8 preclude 2 in a bar singers or musicians from being a grandfathered right although permitting 2 in a bar playing of recorded music to be one. THe only disadvantage with not ticking box now is that an application to vary may need to be made later, and that will cost extra. |

Subject: RE: Licensing-Boring but important From: GUEST,Pete Date: 17 Jun 05 - 04:05 AM Yes - Please do fill in your forms and get them in soon. As a member of a local authority licensing board I don't want to spend all my autumn evenings stuck in board hearings to clear a backlog of late applications! |
