I just rece'd this notice from a swedish list:

Swedish Fiddle Duo Två currently touring the US!

A somewhat belated press-release since the tour has already begun...
Två just appeared in Nisswa and Duluth, MN, but don't despair, you
can still catch Två at the following locations:

June 17 - Philadelphia, PA
June 19 - Worcester, MA
June 22 - Brattleboro, VT
June 24-26 - Old Songs Festival, Altamont, NY

For more details about these concerts, go to their web site:
www.aliciaabrams.info/tva

About Två:

Två is currently on their second US-tour through New England and
the Mid-West, returning after their acclaimed US debut in October 2004.

Två presents twin fiddling from Sweden and the British Isles,
mixed with humor, stories and a song or two. When Emma Reid and
Alicia Björnsdotter Abrams take on a tune, they launch into a
playful chase.
The two fiddles bend and tease, take a turn, and then one follows
the other smoothly. Some of the raw, ancient qualities of Swedish music are mixed with elegant harmony parts.

Peg Eves, director of West Street Arts in Brattleboro says: "The
music produced by these two artists leaves absolutely nothing to be
desired of an evening's entertainment. The spirit of their
performance is captivating and uplifting. One can not accurately
appraise their work without risk of being accused of exaggerating."

Emma and Alicia both have a performance degree in traditional Swedish
music from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and Emma has also
completed a Master in Music at Newcastle University in England.
Alongside Swedish music, the vibrant fiddle tradition of the Shetland
Isles has a special place in their duo repertoire. They have each
studied with a Shetland fiddle master; Alicia with Aly Bain and Emma
with Catriona MacDonald.

I hope some mudcats will be able to attend and enjoy this--
their name means TWO in swedish i think...correct me if I'm wrong.

Just did my first dabbling in Swedish fiddle last week, and am planning to follow those girls around at Old Songs. If I weren't working 'til seven and meeting some folks to map out catering for their wedding afterwards, I'd make the two hour trip to Brattleboro to hear them there too. I am hooked on this stuff.
