Subject: Ken Perlman UK June July Tour From: Susan A-R Date: 19 Jun 05 - 10:47 PM I've just finished a week long music camp run by this remarkable musician and teacher. Ken is a fine banjo and guitar. At camp I watched him do great clawhammer style work and then turn around and finger pick Cape Breton tunes beautifully and cleanly. He'll be in the UK in a few days, for a month-long tour. He's worth hearing. Tour information can be found here http://www.kenperlman.com/itin.htm (is there a blue clicky elf about?) By the way, the camp was fabulous and there'll be more about that in a later thread when I've gotten over the sort of extreme sleep deprivation that comes from a week of great music and great socializing. Subject: RE: Ken Perlman UK June July Tour From: GUEST,Philippa Date: 20 Jun 05 - 05:25 AM I see Ken will be at a banjo festival in Bath first weekend in July but that is the same weekend as the Conwy, N Wales, bluegrass and oldtime festival which is attended by many 5-string banjo players |

Subject: RE: Ken Perlman UK June July Tour From: Susan A-R Date: 21 Jun 05 - 11:49 PM Just got word from Ken that the Northeast Heritage Music Camp is happening again next June. Ken started up the camp this year. I attended, mainly because it was in my back yard, ant the teachers were fabulous. They knew their music, their instruments, they'd been to the sources on their genres and they could teach. What a teat. |
