Christmas time again! The Snowman is here again. So is its theme song 'Walking in the air', beautiful as a dream. Does anyone happen to know the lyrics and would you post it here? Thanks in advance.

Merry Christmas!

Hmmmm. Never heard of it before, but I found it at the International Lyrics Server (click me). Not folk, but kind of a nice song.

WALKING IN THE AIR
(from the animated film Snowman)
(Howard Blake)

We’re walking in the air
We’re floating in the moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly

I’m holding very tight
I’m riding in the midnight blue
I’m finding I can fly so high above with you

Far across the world
The villages go by like trees
The rivers and the hills
The forests and the streams

Children gaze open mouthed
Taken by surprise
Nobody down below believes their eyes

We’re surfing in the air
We’re swimming in the frozen sky
We’re drifting over icy
Mountains floating by

Suddenly swooping low on an ocean deep
Arousing of a mighty monster from its sleep

We’re walking in the air
We’re floating in the midnight sky
And everyone who sees us greets us as we fly

Raymond Briggs was a genius, but that song....eek... I can just about put up with it when I'm watching the animated film on the telly with my young grandson.

The chorus I sing in,
iincluded this song in its Christmas concerts; it was new to me.

Then there's the Irn Bru (favourite Scottish soft drink and alleged hangover cure) parody, that was used in a TV ad for the same: good fun to watch and try to guess the various locations: and then it was updated, so there's more than one!

Is anyone aware if The Snowman is shown in the US?
I have never seen it,
and I'm not aware that it was broadcast here.
