Trying to plan the rest of my summer weekends within EASY travelling distance (ie Kent and nearby): suggestions welcome, preferably cheap.

25/5 Maybe Leigh (Essex)
26   DBBarbie (whoopee)
Jy 2 Three Mariners (Lower Rainham) beer and folk day in aid of RNLI
Jy 8/9/10 Wiped out 'cos out late with PA rig on Sat. Is this also the East Sussex Folk Ale?
Jy 15/16/17 I don't think I'll go to Tolpuddle this year - too far really. What other options?
Jy 23 - the next Lower Stoke Peninsula licensing hours folk night - some spare beds in my house
Jy 29-31 Most of you will go to Sidmouth but what will the rest of us do?
Aug 5-7 Broadstairs, but what if I don't like it?
Aug 12 Ditto
Aug 13/14 Seemingly blank...
Aug 19-21 Seemingly blank...
Aug 26-28 Seemingly blank...

Come on down to Broadstairs, Richard. I will be performing there on August 5th, 6th, & 7th and I'll make sure you like it.

Mike

If one could get onto the campsite without having to buy a week's season (or if there was a campsite or caravan site real close), I might. It's the fringe stuff I like best, and in the past I have found the pubs throw you out of the singarounds/sessions at (say) 2.30 pm and 11 pm, on the nail, bong!

I suppose if I left home at 9 on the Saturday morning, I might get to park somewhere within spitting distance, stay sober and drive home at midnight....

Seems strange this, as Mark Lawson tried to run the usual Red Lion Beer and Folk Festival there last year but it was cancelled due to a new landlord taking over, and bowing to pressure from one of the people over the road regarding noise. I wonder if he knows about the music coming back. Very interesting. Could be of course that it wasn't wanted and Mark was given the'Bums rush'

Same thought occurred to me John. Guess we'll never know.

'twould surely be an act of madness by the landlord - look at the amount of beer he sold at teh Lawsonfest - unless of course he makes more selling burgers to cowboys...
