Does anyone know where I could get a printed version of the Welsh Lullaby "Sou Gan" for piano? If so, you can email me at chughton@eaglefarm.com

Thanks

John

Well, our very own Barry Taylor has a MIDI rendition of Suo Gan at The Contemplator site (click here). It's not quite the same tune I know, though. Here is another site with what I think may be the same MIDI.
Ah, finally, I found one that sounds close to the tune I know - Click here. This one is pretty close, too. All you need now is a MIDI program that will print the music on paper. Noteworthy composer is one.
Sorry, Barry, usually I think your MIDIs are great. -Joe Offer-

Hi Joe,

All those midis sound the same. (The link to Barry's didn't work). They are all the same tune as I have.

The one I know in 3/4 time is proably not the one John is looking for..... the words are

Suo Gan do not weep

Suo Gan go to sleep...... etc

Hi John,

It's probably in most Books of Welsh songs. I have it in "Folk songs of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales", selected and edited by William Cole. Published by Warner Bros. Publications INC.

Oh, DUH! I've got that book, Alison. I don't know if it's because you're a musical genius, or just very diligent, or both - but you always seem to come up with the answer. Thanks.
As for the MIDI files, I think the first two are the same, the third is different; and by the time I listened to the fourth, I couldn't tell any of them apart.
