Thanks for the link to that interesting article, and the other ones linked on that page.

Since I'm just learning about the Blues, I can't really comment pro or con on whether "Blues Is Dead".

But the fact that we're talking about it and people such as me are still interested in learning about it and listening to it implies that it's not quite dead, right?

I will offer the view that besides its {not always accurate} association with hard times & depression, African Americans' {for the most part} disinterest with Blues, can be traced to the time when the heavy taxes on dancehalls and other factors caused the disconnect between Blues music and dancing.

We prefer to move with our music.

Move on if you like, but the blues is one of the simplest, yet most beautiful musical forms. It leaves you with such a feeling in your gut, can't put it any way else.
It's a shame, especially for African-Americans, if it becomes forgotten.
I can't say if it's dying or not, but brother plays it, friends play it, lots of Israeli musicians do.
