Does anyone know who recorded a song called "Red Bloomers"?
It was around in the mid-1970s, and was probably recorded by an Irish group/band/singer.
The story line involves a lonely older woman searching for a man, and at one time almost succeeding with a "fine dark-haired tinker." I wrote the words off a juke box at an Irish pub in Los Angeles years ago, and I think I have most of the words. But --
I'd like to record this song, and need to know who wrote it, if possible.
Thanks!

That sounds like it. I remember that "Huro My Johnny" was on the flip side.
Thanks a bunch!

Mmm... I hear this one every so often, sung with gusto by a lady whose name eludes me. It's one of a family of "For want of a man" type songs. I'll see if I can locate it.

Regards
