Subject: RE: Hardraw Gathering:Who's going? From: HipflaskAndy Date: 29 Mar 06 - 07:40 AM Yep, it's definitely on in 2006 - and I'll probably get a thread of 'its own' going for 'em so as folk aren't confused ('cause if they open up this one, the first umpteen threads concern 05). But for now, the dates are 28th-30th July, centred round the Green Dragon of course and I believe some of the guests to be Last Night's Fun, Grace Notes, Wiches of Elswick, Dave Vermond and the Duncan McFarlane Band (ahem, that's me, which is why I'm party to this info at present). There'll be more... but the main thrust of this fest is that it's participant rather than guest based - so it's dance, singing and playing sessions (for free). So (to use the Leeds City Varieties Good Old Days phrase) it's chiefly yourselves!! And was a grand affair, for being so, last year! Cheers - Duncan |

Subject: RE: Hardraw Gathering:Who's going? From: Dave the Gnome Date: 26 Jul 06 - 03:49 AM I have a friend who is staying in Dent that weekend. He is not a folkie but likes all sorts of music. Anything going for him that he can pop in and if he doesn't like it pop out again? Cheers DtG |
Subject: RE: Hardraw Gathering:Who's going? From: GUEST,HipflaskAndy - no cookie today! Date: 26 Jul 06 - 05:48 AM Hi Unicorn Man... bit startled by the 'WELL Hipflask Andy. Where is it then????' ....seeing as the thread starts right up there on post #one with the Gathering's web address. Thought everyone would take that as 'read'. See you there and I'll lend you my reading glasses as I ask you what pint you want pulled (me buying) - OK? Come say hello. I'll try to remember my badge! Cheers! ...and Dave the Gnome.... Not that we aren't 'folk', but I'm told my DMcF Band (electric) is quite palatable to non-folkies. Some of 'em come from a rock background (and it shows!!!) We're on the bandstand in the Green Gragon grounds - by the path to Hardraw Force (Falls) made famous in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves by Kev-Costner-bathing-nude-scene - we'll be clothed! We'll be doing a two hour set (or so) of our brand of folk-rock - and our set is FREE! Mebbe your friend would try us and some ale - and hopefully some good weather! Cheers! - Duncan |
