My heart jumps for joy when I see TDL enter my club on Wednesdays. I see the expressions of glee on the audience as they are treated to what is usually an outstanding example of post-modernist glam-folk satire. How I feel sorry for the poor folk clubs up and down the country who do not have the pleasure of this phenonemon on a regular basis. We at the Tudor Barn are proud to have such a high flying duo still come and do regular floor spots. Obviously the fame and money have not gone to their heads, they are still in touch with their roots. This is more than you can say for a lot of folk stars these days.

This has got to be the best new band on the folk scene at the moment. I'm proud to have supported them on many occasions. One day I hope that I will be looked upon with the same respect as TDL. Then my life will be fulfilled!

That Geordie-Peorgie is always handing me compliments like 'Hello Dad' and 'Who are you?'. And me a massive fan (in more ways than one!!). Now he reckons I've got a better voice and am better looking? I think he needs new glasses and change that herring aid into a hearing aid. Must have been all those years at sea made him get a herring aid. I reckon all those people having a go at TDL must be wearing Herring Aids too - Oh the irony of it all!!! Well this band are certainly causing a stir on the folk scene. It's all reminicent of Dylan hitting the New York in 1961 - people weren't too sure what to make of him then.

weve had variable attendances at our club this summer too.

Richard. The reason we were up early last year at Knockholt was because we couldn't sleep - it was so hot in that tent! Sorry if we practiced too early m'dear. No such problem this year, was there?
The fact that one of the opposition took the trouble to cut and paste my comments about Friday Folk's attendance proves one thing - they are looking at our website. We look at our stats - 'nuff said!
Anyway, we have always had low attendance during the summer. If you read more carefully you'll see I've blamed the football. Anyway, it's been going steady for 19 years, and will continue. It's never going to be as big as Dartford, and we don't want it to be. Suggest anyone without a sense of humour depart this thread now!

There are some very po-faced people out there who really have not got it. I'm not a "fan" - and I have been a folkie for quite a while - and I have a winge about TDL from time to time - but it you can't see the comedy you really do need a funny-bone transplant.

I do however recommend not camping next the them, as they are early risers whose first cup of tea is often followed by practice. I have said this to their face.

Perhaps BD and MS should do likewise - or are they/you in fact invented personae of TDL promoters who realise that controversy creates the oxygen of publicity. Are you really Trevor and Sue on a wind-up?

It makes me feel very sad ..having read through everything that's been written in the negative about TDL and Friday Folk ....get a life seems to come to mind ....Sue and Trev have brought a bright spark of humour into the folk scene ..surely that must count for a great deal in what can be a very dark world at times?

What a load of bollocks - the reason attendance is low is because of a whole string of factors - World Cup, Knockholt, folk & Ale, sickness, holidays etc.

I haven't attended for a few months now because of other engagements. Fridatfolk is certainly one of the best organised and friendly clubs in the country.
