Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'Join us in our game' From: Phil Cooper Date: 07 Jul 05 - 05:09 PM It's on the first Mr. Fox album. I don't have a lyric sheet with my copy. It was either written by Bob & Carole Pegg or Carole Pegg & Ashlye Hutchings. Bob Pegg has a website and you might want to visit that. Sorry, I don't have its address. |

Come along good people join us in our game Join us in our game Come with us into our world and listen as we play Join us in our game Join us in our game We sing of the North where dales echo with the dancing Join us in our game Where fiddlers play and ladies laugh and Mr Fox comes prancing Join us in our game Join us in our game A goshawk may beguile you, a hanging man may haunt you Join us our game (Something, something, something, something, blah, blah, blah, blah) Join us in our game Join us in our game Rpt first verse Chris |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'Join us in our game' From: Stewie Date: 07 Jul 05 - 09:49 PM I have it on the double LP 'The Complete Mr Fox'. Unfortunately, it has no lyrics sheet and I don't have time to attempt a transciption at the moment. I will later, if no one else can supply. There a couple of additional stanzas to what Chris has given above. --Stewie. |

Subject: Lyr Add: JOIN US IN OUR GAME (Bob and Carole Pegg) From: Stewie Date: 08 Jul 05 - 10:27 PM This is how I hear the song. The only line I am uncertain about is the one in square brackets. Bob Pegg slurs the line. It could be something else entirely to what I have given - the second part could be 'and paths are strewn with rubble'. JOIN US IN OUR GAME (Bob and Carole Pegg) Instrumental intro Come on good people join us while you may Join us in our game Come with us into our world and listen as we play Join us in our game Join us in our game We sing of the North where dales echo with the dancing Join us in our game Where fiddlers play and ladies laugh as Mr Fox comes prancing Join us in our game Join us in our game A goshawk may beguile you, a hanging man may haunt you Join us our game When singing streams turn icy, then the Green Man he may taunt you Join us in our game Join us in our game But the seasons hide the sorrow on the faces of the people Join us in our game [As doubts conceal their dangerous flood and pastures strewn with rubble] Join us in our game Join us in our game And there's singing in the churches and the fields as day is dawning Join us in our game Neddy played and Jacky sang and Clancy danced till morning Join us in our game Join us in our game Instrumental break Repeat first stanza --Stewie. |
