My mother, who is Acadian would like the words to the french version of this song. It is likely Quebecois and the words are a mockery of the original version which is probably english. thanks, >o<

Subject: Lyr Add: RAMONA (in English and French)
From: Jim Dixon
Date: 11 Dec 05 - 04:27 PM

First, here are the English lyrics copied from http://lyricsplayground.com/alpha/songs/r/ramona.shtml

RAMONA
Words, L. Wolfe Gilbert. Music, Mabel Wayne.
Written for the film "Ramona" (1928)

VERSE: I wander out yonder o'er the hills
Where the mountains high seem to kiss the sky.
Someone's up yonder o'er the hills
Waiting patiently, waiting just for me.

CHORUS: Ramona, I hear the mission bells above.
Ramona, they're ringing out our song of love.
I press you, caress you,
And bless the day you taught me to care.
I'll always remember
The rambling rose you wore in your hair.
Ramona, when the day is done, you'll hear my call.
Ramona, we'll meet beside the waterfall.
I dread the dawn
When I awake to find you gone.
Ramona, I need you, my own.

[Here are two recordings you can download:
Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra (vocal: Austin Young) - 1928
Ben Selvin and His Orchestra (vocal Scrappy Lambert?) - 1928

[Below are the French lyrics by A. Willemetz, Saint-Granier, J. Le Seyeux
Copied from http://www.paroles.net/chansons/21013.htm :

Depuis le moment
Où je t'ai connue
Hélas follement
Je n'ai pas cessé
De penser à toi
Comme un insensé

{Refrain:}
Ramona, j'ai fait un rêve merveilleux
Ramona, nous étions partis tous les deux
Nous allions lentement
Loin de tous les regards jaloux
Et jamais deux amants
N'avaient connu de soir plus doux
Ramona, je pouvais alors me griser

{au Refrain}

[However, I'm not sure those are the lyrics The Raven wanted. Roméo Beaudry also wrote a set of lyrics, which you can hear at Bibliothèque nationale du Québec, but I'm not fluent enough to transcribe them.]
