are already hard to get

Jan, can you provide a web address? Dutch border sounds just about makeable.

Since we're at it, has anyone been to the wonderful Venne Folk Spring in early May, also in that area? This year was a bit wet from above, but Colin Wilkie compered a lot of events, and it was great to meet him in person. They also had class acts, from - among others - the Dutch 'Irish folk' band Rapalje to Allan Taylor to Jens Kommnick, Germany's best and most versatile 'Irish folk' musician to Dragseth, a duo singing sensitive songs in German, English, Low German and North Frisian. Maybe I'll meet you there next year!

I had the honour of drinking and talking with Pat in Hannover
tonight, Pat tells me he sang for 15 years in the English folk clubs
when he was younger but was allways snubbed by the tradionals.
When I look up his songs now on google, seems Pat's songs are very
well known and popular in England.
I hear on the one hand of the decline of folk music in England, but have seen at first hand how popular Pat is in Ireland and in Europe.
Pat told me he dos not play in England, quite simply because nobody
has asked him, your loss.

I also had the great pleasure of meeting Pat in Rothenburg ob der Tauber earlier this year. He is a great entertainer and I'm sorry I'm going to miss his performance on the 13th/14th August in the Nurnberg/Glasgow festival.
