Subject: Call for programmes - Radio Britfolk From: treewind Date: 17 Jul 05 - 07:22 AM Copied from various other places where Jacey Bedford has posted it: Ever fancied making a radio programme? Got access to recording equipment on which you can make a show and edit it to a good, clean standard? Got a bee in your bonnet about something specific? Want to give a few short radio workshops on your favourite instrument? Check out www.radiobritfolk.co.uk and take a look at the programme makers' page. At the moment we especially need: Workshops of 15 - 30 minutes in length. We're covered for: Beginners mandolin (series of 4) Scottish smallpipes (series of 4) Flute (series of 4, not yet received) Melodeon (series of 2) But would welcome anything else either in series of four - six or as one-offs. Beginners, improvers or masterclass levels all welcome. If we don't klnow you we may ask you to submit a sample programme before committing to a whole series. Ideally workshops should not use material that attracts PRS and PPL but if they do, please keep it to a minimum. We need these fairly sharpish - the first ones for three weeks hence ==== And we also need: Documentaries of 30 - 60 minutes in length using not more than 30 minutes-worth of material that attracts PRS and PPL Themed programmes of around 30 - 40 minutes in length using not more than 30 minutes-worth of material that attracts PRS and PPL. We've already got: A cappella (series of 6) North East/Geordie songs (series of 7) Songs relating to time and place (series of 6) English Melodeon (one show) NOTE: We'd especially like programmes with a high level of Welsh, Scottish and Irish content to balance what we've been offered already. =========== And we also need: Main shows of one hour in length using not more than 50 minutes worth of material that attracts PRS/PPL There should be light and lively 'mixed bag' kind of shows which let your personality and personal choice shine through. =========== The PRS/PPL thing is important because we pay our licence according to how much copyright stuff we broadcast. Of course we do screen for artistic and technical quality and suitable content (there's an exec committee which makes the decisions). And our remit is (mostly but not exclusively) music from Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England. Come on... you know you want to... :-) Remuneration? Satisfaction in the knowledge of a job well done and the idea that you are sharing with folk-folks all over the world. The radio is already getting worldwide hits. Remember www.radiobritfolk.co.uk |
