Maggie and I will be there as usual, stewarding and singing and playing in pubs round town.

It depends what you are looking for. Most of the concerts, dances and other events are on the school site, as are a real ale bar, food concessions, music and craft stalls and children's events. Some of us 'fringe types' invest the pubs in town (Bowling Green, Roebuck, Zetland, etc) to annoy each other in song and tune. There's a good quality (mainly unaccompanied) singaround in a pub whose name escapes me. And there's a free festival bus every twenty minutes between the school site and the rest of town. But there's really no need to leave the main site unless it's for the dance displays or to meet up with lowlifes like MCFat or me.

We have the use of many of Warwick School's facilities (in whose grounds the festival is held) so bring your swimming costume. Showers available at all times so folkies are more sweet-smelling at this festival than at some others. :0)

I think Warwick is my favourite festival. As Les says there is so much going on on the main field there's no need to leave, but there's the castle very close by and the lovely shops (excellent pork butcher!)

Lots of open space for kiddies to play and fly kites etc, as well as everything else organised.

Several marquees on the site, can sit outside in the sunshine and listen and watch the world go by, fantastic ceilis in the evening (I'll be checking your wristbands at the door) and late-night sings after everything else has finished.

And lots of friendly faces!

I'm there as usual. Doing compering stuff but hope to have time to do a bit of low life singing with Les etc. By the way the Punchbowl is closed for refurbishment so no cheap Barnsley Bitter then.

I'll be there with Feet First. I first went a couple of years ago and enjoyed it a lot so I'm looking forward to being there again this time. How's this for a random day though - I have my graduation ceremony on Friday morning then straight off to Warwick in the afternoon. At least I have the thought of going to a festival to get me through a fun morning of continuous clapping as hundreds of people I've never met parade across a stage and then having my photo taken with the proud parents whilst holding a plastic tube with a ribbon round it... *stops whinging now*

Might have my piccolo banjo with me as I finally decided to try to tune it a full octave above standard 5-string tuning and the strings didn't snap, so I can play without transposing all the fingerings.

Memorable events at pevious Warwick FFs have included the all-comers Ladies Toilet Harmony Singing session (for which I was very pleased to be voted an honourary woman!) and the Incredible Baloon Rapper.

That's bad news about the Punchbowl, Jim. I was pleased that we had got to use that pub again. Perhaps someone who lives locally can give us an idea of folk-friendly pubs, as they seem to change a bit from year to year.

first I was then I wasn't then I was-then i wasn't now I was again!!! Never gonna buy another house AGAIN!!!! will be bringing couscous and various dips for the 10 hour journey (incuding National Breakdown and and spontaneous service station concert). My favourite festival -very happy now wish the other half was -Les will you bring radio for Ashes commentary?

Its no good me bringing the radio for the test match as I won't be going. I will be watching the test on the telly though :-).
I am not sure which comes first with me, Cricket or Folk Music.

Tent's packed in the car already. Half-day at work tomorrow then straight up the M40.

This festival is so good even my 21 year old daughter, who would rather stand out in the rain than listen to folk music, is coming and bringing her friend (and her swimming cossie).

Great variety of music and dance. On-site catering superb (the jerk-chicken is a must for non-veterians), showers it seems are available at all times (no waiting til 9am) and it is a short walk or free bus-ride into town past beautifully tended municipal gardens.

This is the ONE festival I wouldn't miss.

Cant afford to go this year. Am going to the All Ireland Fleadh in Letterkenny at the end of August and havnt the cash for both.

Do like Warwick Festival tho. I will miss all my friends and the sing around.

Glad to see that Linda will be with us this year, and the radio will be there as well. Australia getting a bit of a thrashing at the moment! Last year's ten hour journey was a direct route but a sort of 'journius interruptus'.

Well Muppitz will no doubt be on duty in t'Moor and Coast tent late night

Last time I went I put up the tent on an open field.
by the time I got back after taking a few beers I couldnt find the tent!!

I went to t'Moor and Coast tent and was taken in hand by a young lady (no not like that!) who helped me find my tent

Could well be there yet have you all seen Flossie yet!!

I had a really good time - good to see/ hear people, and sorry I didn't see everyone who's posted above that they would be at Warwick.

Apologies, in case anyone went to the Crown & Castle looking for Dave and Anni, for not knowing that their singaround was moved to the Bowling Green this year, because the C&C management wanted to use their room as a restaurant. It was still an excellent singaround, though.

I hope everyone dries out OK (from the rain that is....)

Safely home although completely exhausted and slumped over the computer at work on several occasions today. Thanks to Pistachio for her safe driving and company. Lovely to see catters and great singing as usual in the Arts Centre. Love the festival, except the car park duty in the pouring rain , but someone had to do it! Highlights were Crosscurrent, Black Umfolosi and Flossie - wish I could have seen more

Am now back after a fantasic weekend. Shame about the 5 hours in traffic jam after traffic jam on the M6 but it can't really put a dampener on the event. All I need now is a new liver and a few days to just sleep

Missed Flossie! Bugger!
Rachel Unthank and co were great, Napper and Bliss were fantastic and I am now of the firm belief that Tom Napper is the Duracell Bunny, Friday and Saturday night (Or Saturday and Sunday morning depending how you look at it!) the man was unstoppable, once you start him playing he just doesn't stop!

I had a great (first) Warwick festival, despite the weather, I hope to return next year!
