I will be on hols from 27 August at Bakewell for a week. Does anybody know if anything folkwise is on in that week in Bakewell, Derbyshire, UK or fairly close. Don't want to travel too far.
Many thanks for any help.

not a million miles away from the opera house at buxton - concerts on there

I will definately go and have a chat with that guy.

Are theses clubs open for folk at that time of the year, or are they having their summer break.

Some clubs don't close during the summer :-). I will be running my club on 26th August whilst missus and kids pack (sounds good to me LOL :-)

I think I will go live on Micks programme as he is looking for club organisers to come on the show. Can get all the info from him then.

Les,
I think the shop Big Al (weelittledrummer) is on about is called 'The Bakewell Bookshop' - it is a great place, with loads of roots music and interesting books on sale, and with loads of posters of what's on locally!

Cheers Barry

p.s. enjoy Derbyshire - one of my favourite places!

The Bakewell Bookshop is a good place to see what's on. He has kindly displayed posters for Julie's gigs in the area and generally as a selection of gig posters near the front door.

Villan: Breezy will be proud of you - you hijacked your own thread!
