I'm heading to Vermont to see my old pal Utah Phillips at the Champlain Valley Folk Festival on August 5-6-7.

A few other friends will be there including Kim & Reggie Harris and Jay Ungar & Molly Mason.

I am going to be there, playing with Utah as part of the ROSE TATTOO. We will also be playing with Utah at the Cafe Lena on the following Tuesday, the 9th.
I hear that the show is sold out, but that they are thinking of adding a 2nd. I hope to get meet any Mudcatters who are in the neighborhood.

Here's a paradox of sorts...I'm about 1.5 hours from the Lena and less than that from the present Champlain Festival site...but I'll miss both things because I'll be in Bozeman with my kids that week.

For the first time in about 15 years (since it was at Kingsland Bay in the early days) I'll be at Champlain Festival. It's my treat to myself in the midst of turmoil, and I look forward to seeing Mudcat folks there.    Keep in mind, if you are on the way through that Thursday or Friday, Catters get a free meal at Susan's Kitchen in Montpelier. (223-8646, 209 Barre St.) Good vegetarian (and sometimes not so vegetarian food.

Hopefully I'll have a sub Friday afternoon so I can clear out early to set up camp, but I'll make sure they know about the meal.


Come to think of it, p'raps I'll start a Champlain Festival thread.
