Just a bit of self-promotion here, but if you are at Sidmouth this year, and you're looking for a free admission concert, rhyzome are playing at Duke's Hotel on the seafront on Saturday 30th July from around 9pm till kickin' out time!

It would be great to see some of you, and perhaps have a chat, should we get a opportunity to have a break!

Let me know if you might pop in and have a listen.

Thanks Barry

See you all next Saturday.

Getting very excited now!! ;0)

I may just pop in for a few minutes , IF it looks as though I can get out of The New Tavern without spoiling the session in there ! Best of luck any way !

More shameless self-publicity Barry!

Looks like all the free stuff at Sidmouth is gonna be great.

Shame that many of the Ham concerts aren't selling well though.

Now there's no central focus at the Arena and just a scattering of proper concert venues, maybe the way forward for Sidmouth is just to become a 'fringe' without a Festival to be fringe to?

I'll happily dance on The Prom and sing in The Bedford all week but I'm not paying £135 for a Ham season ticket.

rizzled - my post is shameless - why shouldn't it be?

Whereas yours is a waste of space!

You have a free choice to pay for stuff, or not, as you feel fit.

Why make a point of it? (as if I didn't know)

Why is it yet again the case that Rhyzla has to slag off others who post on this board?

I'm really looking forward to Sidmouth this year but I can understand why so many others are giving it a miss with all the negative vibes from Rhyzla and friends.

I hope you won't be such an old misery-guts in Devon my friend!

Some people can't stay all week so a season ticket is a waste of money, while others of course can't afford them. As I've said before [and been reviled for it] there is too many things going on at once, and if they cut down a bit on the number of acts they might be able to do it for a more realistic [for the punters] price.
Giok

It must be realised by all or most that a lot of performers at Sidmouth receive little or no payment. You would have to remove the star attractions to make a difference to the budget significant enough to reduce ticket prices - then you would be left with the 'smaller' bands who would not draw the crowds.

It's chicken and egg I'm afraid!

Anyway, if I might say so, we're a tad off-thread!

Rizzled, I missed your anonymous post above at 05.18pm.

First: I only 'slagged you off' because your post was negative, and as a result a waste of space.(Read it again and check!)

Second: I do not send out negative vibes regarding Sidmouth, only to people who choose to criticise it unfairly.

Third: I ain't old, I ain't a misery guts, and I ain't your friend, yet, but hope to be if you come and say hello!

Try and enjoy yourself!
