Greetings All,

I have started a small, grossly under funded, not yet known, folk music venue in Bayonne, NJ. It is in the basement of the oldest church in the city. A church that is in desperate need of restoration.

The purpose of this venture is two fold. Firstly to present monthly folk music concerts in this city. From what I can gather from ten years of looking there is none other than this one. Secondly to help the small congregation of the church raise funds to complete the restoration of this historic structure.

The deal is very simple. We ask that those coming to enjoy the music donate $5.00 per person at the door. The take, if you will, is then divided 50/50 between the musician(s) and the church's restoration fund. I take nothing from this, not even reimbursement of my expenses to promote the shows.

Promotion is through flyers in city business' windows, local newspapers, postings to various music boards, my email list, and word of mouth.

If you feel you would like more information or get on the concert schedule please email me at ed@ejsantiques.com. All world folk music will be considered.

Peace,
Ed

This month's performance:

As part of a continuing World Folk Music project the First Federated Church, 763 Avenue C (corner Ave C and 33rd. St), Bayonne, NJ will host an evening of American Roots Music Thursday, July 28th at 8:00 PM. This performance will feature the father and son duo, The McCloskeys, playing Jazz, Blues, Folk Songs, Bluegrass, and Original Compositions.

Bill McCloskey, the senior member of this duo, plays guitar, Dobro, sings, and will feature other rare instruments such as the Baritone Weissenborn. Bill's fifteen year old son Jake, the junior member of this duo, is a modern wonder on the mandolin. The word "prodigy" has often been used when describing Jake's talent. Coming to Bayonne on the heels of a David Grisman Summer Mandolin Camp, where he performed on stage with David and delivered a fine solo performance, Jake is certainly all charged up for this show. This performance promises to be brilliant!

A suggested donation of $5.00 per person is requested at the door to help raise monies for the Church's restoration fund. Families are encouraged to attend and the folks under twelve are free. For more information call (201) 424-6141 or email Ed@EJSAntiques.com.

Don't miss this great evening of American Roots Music. We hope to see you there!

Greetings All,

Our 2005 concert season has ended. We closed the 2005 season with a marvelous performance by Girsa, the newest and oh so exciting New York City area all female Irish band.

We are currently scheduling our 2006 concert season so if you are interested in performing at a small, under funded yet friendly and heartwarming venue please contact me at ed at (xxx) Liscune . com (take out the spaces and the (xxx)) or PM me through this site.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Peace,
Ed
