Yesterday came the news that the perhaps best known German Jazz musician has died.

A funny note to the sad event: The radio announcer when I first heard it pronounced his name as if it was English and then apologised. Understandable: After the word "jazz musician" an English sounding name seems to our ears to be the default option.
