Have just sent an email to our local community radio station to urge them to buy both of your CDs, Art.

Others might want to do the same with their local stations.:-)

This is great news, Art! I will look forward to owning both of them. It makes it 'specially nice to know that Dennis & the Patons are involved--good folks all!

love,

Barbara

PDQ,

I believe that ALL the reel-to-reel tapes that WFMT-FM in Chicago made at the University Of Chicago Folk Festivals have been digitized. I'm not sure where they are housed at present. But I'm pretty certain that they are not available.

I will check with Kate Early to see what their status might be.

Sandra,

The CD called Chicago "Town And Points West" will be out first from Folk Legacy Records. The other CD will be later.

Thanks for asking!

Art

Thanks, Art Thieme. Nice site with great pictures.

Is there really a chance that the tapes of Bill Monroe and Ike Everly doing duet singing will see the light of day?

Much begging could be arranged.

As one who received a "preview" copy of this CD, I cannot recommend it enough! It is, as we've come to expect, Pure FINE Art. Thanks to all who had a hand in making it come together, but thanks, esp. to you, Art! You ARE a Treasure!! More later...

don't miss this one, folks!!!

Art - I'll have to wait to hear the clips because my work computer doesnt have RealAudio, but in the mean time I've been enjoying the photos in your album, which I had not seen before. Truly a wonderful collection of memories: I recognized a lot of familar faces, and some of the early shots are priceless - like the young Barton/Para and Fred Campeau with the 60's hair (next he comes down here to fiddle I'll have to rag him about that). The Old Town School pics are cool too: what a great place. Almost makes me want to move up to Chicago - but we're trying our best to imitate it here. Thanks for sharing these - cant wait to hear the clips!

In a while, my new CD called CHICAGO TOWN AND POINTS WEST will be here--as produced by Dennis Cook -- and on Folk Legacy Records. Folk Legacy Records

To hear song samples "right now" to some of the tracks, go to my PHOTO WEB SITE called "ART'S PLACE" at, yet again:

Scroll down and click to hear the samples and you will go right to 'em. Song notes and info are there too.

IMPORTANT: When asked, be sure to enter the word "mudcat" as both the 'user name' and the 'password'. That'll get you right in!
(Bruce Kallick, whose good site this is, does it this way because he doesn't want search engines accessing stuff.)

I am very excited about this new CD, as I am about another one that will be out on Folk Legacy later down the road---to be called ART THIEME--ON THE RIVER----a composite of my older River Songs recording plus a few things recorded live on Stage 3 (my favorite) at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas.

Thanks to Dennis Cook and Sandy and Caroline Paton, and so many others for all their hard work, expertise, and generosity!!! It's very close to being like real alchemy. All I did was sing into thin air---and, all of a sudden, it turns into CDs---and the rent. (That's always the old bugaboo bottom line, I suspect ;-)

Art Thieme
