My wife and I are trying to trace the words and music to an Iris Williams song, entitled (we believe!) No Windows, No Ceilings, No Doors. Any album reference to this song appears to have disappeared, we remember it from about 1976/77. Any help out there, please?

Barbara Mandrell recorded a song called NO WALLS, NO CEILINGS, NO FLOORS. It was on her 1978 album "Moods."

The Nashville Songwriters' Hall of Fame says it was written by Hal David and Archie Jordan.

I couldn't find any lyrics or sound samples, or any evidence that anyone else ever recorded it. Do you think that's the one you want?

Iris Williams did indeed record NO WALLS, NO CEILINGS, NO FLOORS. I found some examples of used copies being offered for sale on the Internet. They say it was released as a single in Britain in 1980.

Thanks, Jim.   The best I could get from Iris's agent was that it had been released (on a bootleg LP) but that Iris herself did not get a copy!

If you like Iris Williams, you might be interested in a new Sain CD (www.sain.wales.com) of her earliest recordings, many of which were in Welsh.
