Hi - do you know any words for this one? The song I'm thinking about is about a proper cup of coffee made in a proper copper coffeepot - but I can't imagine Johnny Cash or Jack Elliott being able to sing a tongue-twister like that.
Is it on the "Ballad of Ramblin' Jack" DVD?

I found it on the Long Ride CD (1999), a duet - more like a conversation with Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Tom Russell. The sung part is:

I just stopped by to get a cup of coffee.
I just stopped by to grab a cup of coffee.
Don't give me no whiskey, Tom,
I ain't got time for wine.
I gotta wheel that old semi down the line.

Fun song.

I've been getting into Ramblin' Jack Elliott quite a bit lately, but I can't find chords to many of his songs. So if anyone knows the song Cup of Coffee I'd certainly appreciate it. Even though I'm after that one if anybody knows any other Ramblin' Jack songs (maybe 912 Greens) I'd be grateful for that as well.

Chorus:
What I want is a proper cup of coffee made in a proper copper coffee pot,
I may be off my dot but I want a cup of coffee in a proper coffee pot,
Tin coffee pots and iron coffee pots there no use to me,
If I can't have a proper cup of coffee in a proper copper coffee pot,
I'll have a cup of tea.

The sultan sat on his oriental mat in his hareem High Street Persia,
He called for a pot, of coffee, just a drop, and he said to his slave O curse yer,
O curse yer curse yer curse yer,
This ia the horriblist coffee in Persia.

Chorus:

There is lots more but I can't imagine anyone wanting more.
