Subject: RE: Song titles that rock From: PoppaGator Date: 10 Aug 05 - 11:35 AM The way I understand the slogan "Reading Rocks" ~ reading is way cool, in other words ~ it would seem to me that "rock" the verb does qualify, but that "rock" the noun (as in a stone, boulder, etc.) is off-topic. Can't think of a single additional song to add this already-pretty-comprehensive list. The first one that sprang to my mind was "Rock Me Baby (Rock Me All Night Long)," which didn't appear anywhere in the first several posts, but sixtieschick came up with it soon enough. |

Subject: Folklore: Song titles that rock From: GUEST,JennieG at work Date: 10 Aug 05 - 12:09 AM I am looking for song titles that feature the word "rock". This year's theme for Oz Children's Book Week is "Reading Rocks", and as the Director of Visual Aesthetics in the library (that means I get to do book displays *grin*) I am looking for ideas to make a poster featuring song titles. We have some LP album covers for display, CDs hanging from the ceiling, and a large chunk of someone's garden as well (for a real rock!). So far I have : Rock around the clock Crocodile rock Eagle rock Rock and roll high school - Ramones Big rock candy mountain Rock island line Rock the casbah - Clash For those about to rock we salute you - AC/DC Rock in the USA - Mellencamp Rock DJ - Robbie Williams Rock lobster - B52s Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers JennieG |
